Bearings, as the key basic parts of mechanical equipment, occupy a pivotal position in product design and research.

According to the friction nature of the moving elements, bearings can be divided into rolling bearings and plain bearings. Rolling bearings are the most widely used, consisting of bearing rings, rolling bodies (such as balls and rollers), cages and seals. Sliding bearings, on the other hand, use surfaces to support rotating loads

Classification and structure of bearings
Classification:
According to the friction nature of the moving elements, bearings can be divided into rolling bearings and plain bearings. Rolling bearings are the most widely used, consisting of bearing rings, rolling bodies (such as balls and rollers), cages and seals. Sliding bearings, on the other hand, use surfaces to support rotating loads, either in the case of direct sliding contact or in the case of using fluids as media to maintain sliding with a certain film thickness.
According to the direction of load, bearings can be divided into centripetal bearings and thrust bearings. Centripetal bearings are mainly used to support radial loads, while thrust bearings are mainly used to support axial loads.
Structure:
Rolling bearing: with inner ring and outer ring, the center is equipped with rolling body, by rolling to support the rolling load.
Sliding bearings: use the surface to support rotating loads, the structure is relatively simple.

Bearing design elements
Material selection: bearing materials need to have high hardness, high wear resistance, high fatigue strength and other characteristics. Commonly used bearing materials include high-carbon chromium bearing steel, carburized bearing steel, etc.
Dimensional design: The dimensional design of the bearing should be calculated accurately according to the load, rotational speed, operating temperature and other conditions. Reasonable size design can ensure that the bearing has enough strength and rigidity in the working process.
Tolerance and fit: the tolerance and fit of bearings have an important impact on the performance and service life of bearings. Poor tolerance control may cause assembly difficulties, uneven load distribution in the bearing and other problems. Therefore, in the design process need to strictly control the bearing tolerance and fit.
Lubrication and sealing: Good lubrication can reduce the friction and wear of bearings and improve the service life of bearings. At the same time, the sealing device can prevent dust and other impurities from entering the bearing, keeping the bearing clean and lubricated.
